Services

Over many years the Clinics have established a considerable reputation for ophthalmic excellence with extensive experience in both surgical and medical ophthalmology.

Cataract surgery

Cataract surgery has been revolutionised in the last 2–3 years with the advent of the Wavefront Intraocular Lens, which corrects many of the aberrations that occur with night-time driving. Dr Wise has significant expertise with the Wavefront lenses and was one of the first ophthalmologists in Australia to use them.

Glaucoma management

Glaucoma is an eye disease that affects people’s field of vision. It mainly affects the over forty age group and tends to occur in families. The most common form of glaucoma is chronic simple glaucoma. There are rarer forms, such as congenital glaucoma and angle closure glaucoma. We provide a full range of services in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.

Diabetic management

Diabetic patients need a full diabetic ophthalmic examination every two years. Diabetes can cause or exacerbate a number of visual problems including cataract and retinopathy. We provide a full range of services in the management of eye health in diabetic patients.

Eyelid surgery

Our doctors have extensive experience with all forms of eyelid surgery including the treatment of eyelid cancer, and eyelid malpositions. Our principal doctor, Dr Wise, has been trained as an ophthalmic plastic surgeon.

General ophthalmology

General ophthalmology covers a wide range of conditions from medical diseases involving the retina through to the treatment of acute ophthalmic conditions such as conjunctivitis, dry eye and corneal ulcers.

Optometrical services

We have independant optometrists available for routine eye testing and for the provision of glasses and contact lenses.  They are experienced Optometrists who have immediate access to existing patient files and are also able to arrange urgent and/or review appointments to any of our ophthalmologists as required.

Children

Children suffer from many ophthalmic conditions that are common with adults and yet present unique challenges in their own right. We offer a full range of treatment for ophthalmic conditions that affect mainly children such as squint, amblyopia (lazy eye), muscle balance problems and reading difficulties for example. We have experienced orthoptists available to assist in the management of these problems. An orthoptist is likened to an ophthalmic physiotherapist.
